The Language of Drumming for Parts Work

April 15, 2023 – Live Streaming on Zoom

Cost – $200.00

This webinar will present drumming  methods for dialoging between therapist and client as well as between ego states/parts within a client.  The method of using drumming as an expressive language will be demonstrated and discussed in the context of the entire dissociative spectrum.  Clients who are non-verbal, have difficulties with the expression of emotions, children who are afraid to articulate or don’t know how, and DID systems who have not reached a robust state of internal co-consciousness, internal cooperation and internal communication.  Drumming as language accesses multi-dimensional aspects of a person as well as subconscious or unconscious material that has been unable to express in the usual ways.  Distorted beliefs and perceptions have the potential to be revealed and transformed into authentic voice/self  through this type of work as well.  This webinar will entail didactic teaching, demonstrations and practice.

FOR THOSE WHO NEED A DRUM
Below are tried and true Resources for acquiring your own drums if desired before or after the training.
There are two types of drums:

1. Skin drums which are made of wood, animal skin and sinew which embody the spirit of the animal and tree from which they were birthed

2. Remo drums which are artificial “skin” but sound and work great, do not go “flat” from weather conditions, are pretty much indestructible are much less expensive,  I have both types for different uses but it is recommended that therapists provide or suggest Remo drums for their clients to start.  Either type of drum is effective as it is the Sound that expresses, creates and transforms the internal landscape in the human body as well as “carrying” one’s consciousness between and through one’s personal internal dimensions.  With Remo drums, the spiritual aspect is generated more through Intention but the Sound vibration and frequency is just as powerful..
SKIN DRUMS:  Sean Ryan, Wiltshire, UK.  His drums are “alive” and have the similar spiritual power and energy of art iconography.  Each drum is custom made specifically for the person and Sean will speak with you to get to know you a bit before he creates your drum.  You can reach Sean via his site or his email address:

ARTIFICIAL SKIN DRUMS:  Remo Buffalo Frame Drums are my suggestion
