After my Professional Dance studies in Greece I attained a Post-graduate Diploma and then Master’s Degree in Dance Movement Psychotherapy (DMP) at the Laban Centre/City University in London (1998-2002). In the UK I taught Laban Movement Analysis at the Laban Center and the Metropolitan University (London) in 2001-03. I have being working in Athens, in private practice since 2003, with people who suffer from psychosomatic symptoms, personality disorders, developmental trauma, C-PTSD and depression. I have enriched my practice with seminars at the Vegetotherapy and Character Analysis at the ‘Wilhelm Reich’ Centre in Athens and I use Vegetotherapy as a tool to build resources in order for the person to strengthen his/her ability to deal with stress. I trained in CRM in 2018 (Basic with Domna Ventouratou & Advanced/Core Self with Lisa Schwarz). In 2018 two books of mine were published, an autobiographic psychological novel (on accessing and healing dissociated parts of the Self) and a scientific guide in Dance Movement Psychotherapy (first ever published in Greek language) by Angelakis Publications, Athens, Greece. I am receiving CRM sessions myself regularly and I attend group supervision sessions, monthly, in Athens with Domna Ventouratou.
In my practice I use CRM to treat people with developmental trauma, in-the-womb trauma and generational trauma but also as the basic tool for healing and reaching the full potential of the person seeking help. My long previous experience with Dance as Art and Dance Movement Psychotherapy, I have a deep understanding of how the body expresses emotions through movement in a subtle way, I very much attend to the non-verbal communications and I am trained to draw further information about the person from body movement as well as his/her character type according to Reichian Character Analysis and attend to his/her developmental needs.
Prapti is a trauma-informed, queer-positive Registered Social Worker offering psychotherapy. She has completed her training in Somatic Experiencing and in CRM basic training. She also has training in mindfulness, narrative, psychodynamic and attachment theories. The focus of her Masters of Social Work was on the impact of systemic oppressions such as racism, sexism, ableism and classism on individual and collective well-being. She is also interested in how our ancestry impacts our lives, and especially how colonialism and its economy shape our identities and our interactions with others.
She helps individuals slowly and mindfully integrate their thoughts, sensations, and movements such that overwhelming life experiences are renegotiated to achieve balance and regulation in body and mind. CRM training has given her the tools to build a scaffold of resources such that clients can feel fully the truth of their lives and clear pain that once was unbearable.
Prapti is committed to building a relationship with her clients that support their unique needs, develop their strengths, and fosters their innate ability to heal.
I have extensive experience of working with complex individuals within Mental Health Services (NHS), Forensic settings (both statutory and voluntary organizations.)
I am also a clinical supervisor and trainer at Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute in Nottingham.
I work relationally and have recently started (past year) working with the CRM with much success, I have also engaged in my own CRM work which has moved me progressively much further forward than any other psychotherapeutic model I’ve engaged in. (Amazing Model)

BACP (Accred) Counsellor/PsychotherapistPrivate Practice
I am offering Counselling & Psychotherapy, Reiki & Shamanic Healing sessions for Young People from age 11 and Adults. I have a special interest and experience in working with clients who have experienced trauma, abuse or violence in their lives. This may include growing up with a difficult or disrupted early attachment, leading to childhood neglect as unmothered children and resulting in complex trauma that comes from a variety of sources I believe very much in the somatic counselling/psychotherapy approach and really enjoy my work as an integrative mind-body-spirit therapist. I have been working with people in a professional role for over 35 years and as an experienced trained Counsellor/Psychotherapist and energy worker since 2003, working across the age ranges and with a huge variety of clients and issues, in many different settings. My Counselling/Psychotherapy training allows me a very good understanding of the physiological effects of trauma and unresolved emotional issues and how to work with those at a body (somatic) level. My Reiki and Shamanic training allows me to have other tools with which to work with these issues if you so choose, including relaxing and restoring balance in our energy centres. I offer both short and long term work. I have professional indemnity insurance which allows me to practice therapy from Perth/Glasgow/Edinburgh. I invite you to explore my website and if you feel connected to anything written here, please don’t hesitate to be in touch and we can begin to explore how we can work together.
I work with adults and adolescents, and have a particular interest in trauma; PTSD and C-PTSD, addictive behaviours and coping mechanisms and their link to developmental/realtional/childhood trauma; ‘ACE’s’ (Adverse Childhood Experiences), and how these affect survivors as adults.
Trauma comes in many forms; obvious, overt ones such as physical or sexual abuse, car accidents, war, disasters etc, and also less obvious or covert forms like emotional abuse or neglect, bullying, or just ‘not getting what we need’ on an emotional level. If you have experienced trauma (defined here simply as anything that ‘overwhelms’ your nervous system’s ability to adapt healthily) then it’s likely that some emotions connected with the trauma are either unavailable to you or intermittently or relentlessly disturbing to you. I can help you with that.
I have completed the CRM basic training, and also Somatic Experiencing Beginning 1, Integral Somatic Psychology Level 1, and Internal Family Systems Level 1 trainings. I am in the submission stage of a Masters degree in Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy and have been running a successful private practice for 6 years. I believe in ongoing updating and learning. I am a member of UKCP and BCPC and abide by their code of ethics. I am also a member of ISST-D (International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation); Trauma Research Foundation; European Society for Traumatic Stress Studies and ACE’s Connection.
During my training I completed a placement with Barnardo’s Sure-start programme providing therapy for young Mums, and a mental health placement with Avon and Wiltshire Assessment and Recovery team.
I am a volunteer psychotherapist with ‘Help! Counselling’, a charity supporting 9-25 year olds.
At the heart of my work is a belief in the deep value of simply being in a calm, confidential and safe space where you can explore what’s troubling you at your own pace. You may be looking for therapy because you know that you have experienced some form of trauma or you may simply be feeling a bit down and that things are ‘not quite right’, or something in-between. I will offer you good humoured warmth and acceptance, that will support you to express what is going on for you, and together we can try to make sense of things. Through being heard, allowing feeling and being genuinely ‘seen’, things get better…
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional who finds great joy in assisting people during trying times back into a healthier and happier life. I have a warm and non-judgemental approach that provides an opportunity to adress both short and long term goals, crisis situations, and long-term underlying issues. I help my clients explore their past and how it is showing up in their present. Working with those struggling after trauma led me to become a Comprehensive Resource Model Professional. I am also EMDR Trained (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). My work focuses on major issues including couples and families in crisis, intimacy issues, eating disorders, anxiety and depression, and victims of violent acts to name a few.
I have a passion for working with all ages, races, cultures and orientations. I incorporate guided imagery, art, and play therapy techniques into my sessions. My goal is to help individuals, couples, and families to release their traumas without overwhelming them, to help them find healthier ways of communicating and regain the ability to live with themselves as well as others.
“…be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.” ~(NIV) 2 Chronicles 15:7
My approach to therapy is focused in the areas of attachment and attunement. Using both cognitive and somatic therapies that work to heal past trauma and improve relationships with self and others, the goal is for Clients to freely connect to themselves, and to experience life without shutting down or disconnecting. The result is living from an authentic place. People are reluctant to give up drug use, an eating disorder or other behaviors because there’s a payoff: The behavior works to soothe them. I help them find positive and life affirming ways to life their lives.
My specialties include: PTSD and Trauma, substance abuse, eating disorders, anxiety and adjustment disorders and co-occurring disorders.
