I offer help with difficulties such as trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, the enhancement of confidence & performance, and personal development. In my therapeutic practice I integrate CRM, EMDR, clinical hypnosis, body psychotherapies, meditative practices and cognitive behavioural procedures.

I have postgraduate training in integrative counselling/psychotherapy and clinical hypnosis, and consultant status in Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR).  I am accredited as a Senior Practitioner by the BACP and a Consultant by EMDR Europe.

I have particular interest in the treatment of post traumatic experiences: I was a contributor to NICE National Clinical Practice Guideline No. 26 – Post-traumatic stress disorder: the management of PTSD in adults and children in primary, secondary and community care.  I have an interest in transpersonal and spiritual dimensions and am currently researching anomalous experience in the therapeutic process for PhD in the Department of Psychology & Counselling at the University of Greenwich.

My career as a Mental/Health Practitioner includes 20 years as an Occupational Therapist in the NHS. This has given me a para-medical background and a profound acceptance that we cannot separate the mind and body.

My post-grad training in Person Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy started in 2010. I have continued to learn and grow. My work is informed by evidenced-based neuroscience and current research on the advances in psychotherapy approaches and treatments.

I believe that all therapy should be bespoke and individualised. At the end of the day, it’s about you and your need whether it’s:-

• Counselling  –  seeking counsel for something quite specific.
• Life Coaching –  to talk through a decision or a crossroad you are facing.
• Psychotherapy – a CRM journey of healing and recovery from past events. 90min

I am an advocate of somatic psychotherapy. This means that it’s more than just a talking therapy.

The Comprehensive Resource Model (CRM) allows the brain and body to establish a physiological state of sufficient safety in order to create a new window of emotional tolerance. This has proven very effective for trauma, addictions, eating disorders, phobias and severe anxiety issues.

You set the pace but together, we build your inner resources to work through the protective layers that have usually taken years to build. Layers that have protected you but also, possibly, stopped the ’truth’ being brought into the light to allow for re-membering, re-framing, re-consolidation, and re-integration.
