Biographical Info:
Ellyn is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.  Her specialties include trauma, adoption, mood disorders and anxiety.  She currently works mostly with adults, but has had extensive experience working with parents and their young children, as well as with women victims of domestic abuse, children with histories of sexual abuse, parents ordered for intensive parenting training, individuals with medical conditions, and losses of all kinds.  Ellyn’s therapeutic approach utilizes a holistic approach, and includes both somatic and energetic components.  Ellyn has been trained in trauma therapies such as EMDR and Brainspotting and has taken advanced training in treatment of dissociative identity disorder.  She has been studying and working with the Comprehensive Resource Model and its antecedents since 2011.  The CRM is a beautiful, gentle, and powerful approach to healing.

We as human beings are the result of the experiences of our lives even from before birth to present. Sometimes, some of these experiences are so destructive that they impact our lives in such a way that we feel trapped, without knowing what to do. In turn, these feelings negatively alter the way we relate to others and ourselves and produce symptoms of depression; anxiety; insecurity; panic attacks; and compulsive, controlling, aggressive or abusive behaviors. All these symptoms are defensive reactions and indicative that something, deep inside us is not well and that we need help.

My passion is to help you free yourself from the root of these symptoms so that you can reach your full potential, considering the connections between body, mind, and spirit. I am committed to providing you with a warm, safe and compassionate environment. In this process, I work with you through the Comprehensive Resource Model.

CRM is a model of advanced therapy for the treatment of traumatic situations (victim of crime, domestic violence, infidelity, abandonment, attachment disruptions or another type of abuse) that leave us stuck and stunt healthy emotional growth & personal development. I specialize in providing therapy for children, adolescents, adults, couples & families. I also teach parenting classes.

I am a Licensed Clinical Psychotherapist with a Private Practice in Roseville, California, and serve the greater Sacramento area of Northern California. I am a general psychotherapist, specializing in working with adult individual men and women.   Although I treat a variety of issues such as trauma, depression, anxiety, shame reduction and resilience, and family of origin issues, I have advanced training and certifications in specific areas.

As a Certified Sex Addiction Treatment Therapist (CSAT) I specialize in working with sex addiction for addicts and partners of addicts.  I have advanced training in trauma somatic therapy through the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute (SPI).  I am also a Certified Daring Way and Rising Strong Facilitator, certified through Brene Brown and her executive staff.  I am thrilled about my training with Lisa Schwarz in her beautiful and healing Comprehensive Resource Model.  I see miracles happen every day in my office as a result of the brave and challenging work clients do.  It is an honor to be a part of their sacred journey.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.  I look forward to hearing from you!
