Through CRM the person is supported to peel these layers away and are so helped to understand the way they react in situations.

In comparing CRM with therapies like cognitive therapy, the challenge is that people can be asked to talk about their fears in great detail.   Some people may have to repeat their story over and over so that they can build resilience with dealing with the fear.   For many people this is too much to deal with.

With me, there’s no need to talk about what happened. A person will be given skills to give them strength to face the painful emotions they’ve kept inside. Encouragement will be given for the person to focus on the physical sensations arising in their bodies and deal with feelings such as chest-crushing sadness, a hot flash of anger, stomach cramps, palpitations or feeling like one’s heart is frozen in ice. With my support you can face such feelings fully, if only for a short time, and finally let go of your buried anger, terror or shame.

Biography:

I am offering Counselling & Psychotherapy, Reiki & Shamanic Healing sessions for Young People from age 11 and Adults. I have a special interest and experience in working with clients who have experienced trauma, abuse or violence in their lives. This may include growing up with a difficult or disrupted early attachment, leading to childhood neglect as unmothered children and resulting in complex trauma that comes from a variety of sources I believe very much in the somatic counselling/psychotherapy approach and really enjoy my work as an integrative mind-body-spirit therapist. I have been working with people in a professional role for over 35 years and as an experienced trained Counsellor/Psychotherapist and energy worker since 2003, working across the age ranges and with a huge variety of clients and issues, in many different settings. My Counselling/Psychotherapy training allows me a very good understanding of the physiological effects of trauma and unresolved emotional issues and how to work with those at a body (somatic) level. My Reiki and Shamanic training allows me to have other tools with which to work with these issues if you so choose, including relaxing and restoring balance in our energy centres. I offer both short and long term work. I have professional indemnity insurance which allows me to practice therapy from Perth/Glasgow/Edinburgh.
